Travel to Nile River Egypt 2021 - Maranatha Tours

The Nile is a major north-flowing river in northeastern Africa, and is the longest river in Africa and the disputed longest river in the world. The Nile is about 4,130 mi long and its drainage basin covers eleven countries: In particular, the Nile is the primary water source of Egypt and Sudan. www.Maranathatours.com

The northern section of the river flows north almost entirely through the Sudanese desert to Egypt, then ends in a large delta and flows into the Mediterranean Sea. Egyptian civilization and Sudanese kingdoms have depended on the river since ancient times. Most of the population and cities of Egypt lie along those parts of the Nile valley north of Aswan, and nearly all the cultural and historical sites of Ancient Egypt are found along river banks.

Fish were very abundant in Egypt, as Egypt is located on both the Mediterranean and Red Seas, along with the river Nile. Fishing was typically practiced on the river Nile, either by nets from a boat, using dragnets from shore or using bow nets in narrow banks of the river. On the other hand, fishing was also practiced as a sport for pleasure. Spear fishing and angling were two types of fishing as sport that required a lot of patience and skill.

A felucca is a traditional wooden sailing boat used in the eastern Mediterranean—including around Malta and Tunisia—in Egypt and Sudan (particularly along the Nile and in protected waters of the Red Sea). Its rig consists of one or two lateen sails.

Don't worry about booking your felucca ride on the Nile, when you travel with Maranatha Tours we already have this booked. Another great way to view the Nile River when in Egypt.
