Time to Travel Update Maranatha Tours Israel Travel

All governments are working as quickly as they can on ways to re-open their countries and allow travel to resume safely and permanently.  Many airports around the world have or are currently installing facilities to provide Covid-19 tests needed to travel at a minimum charge.

When Will Travel Reopen?

ISRAEL – March 7th Israel started their gradual ease of their Covid-19 restrictions after their latest lockdown.   This is great news!    Israel’s Tel Aviv airport reopened March 7th allowing Israeli Citizens to enter.  At this time they are still requiring negative results from a Covid-19 test to enter.   They are also scheduled to reopen many public spaces such restaurants, cafes, event halls, cultural venues and hotels, however to start with, this will be limited. Travel from the United States is still not permitted at this time.  We are still waiting on the expected re-open dates for US citizens.

EGYPT –  Travel to Egypt is open to US Citizens. At this time
there are no quarantines, they are just requiring a negative Coronavirus test before leaving the US for Egypt. Masks are still mandatory at this time and capacity is limited in most public areas.  Our staff in Egypt is excited and ready for our group arrivals.

JORDAN – Travel to Jordan is open to US Citizens.   At this time there are no quarantines, they are just requiring a negative Coronavirus test before leaving the US for Jordan, and another one upon entering Jordan at the airport.  This tests are done at the Jordan airport at a cost of $40.00.  Masks are still mandatory at this time, but travelers are once again able to visit Petra, the Dead Sea and explore the Wadi Rum deserts.

TURKEY – Travel to Turkey is open
to US Citizens.  At this time there are no quarantines, they are just requiring a negative Coronavirus test before leaving the US for Turkey. Masks are still mandatory at this time, but sites are once again open to enjoy. Our staff in Turkey is ready to welcome our upcoming groups in Turkey.

ITALY –  Travel from many European countries is allowed however they must have a negative test prior to departure, and quarantine for 14 days upon arrival.  They have divided the country into zones and the restrictions are lesser in the lower risk zones and higher in the higher risk areas.  This week they are expected to update their restrictions and requirements. Travel from the United States is still not permitted at this time.   We are waiting on the
expected re-open dates for US citizens.

GREECE –   March 16th Greece is expected to end their current lockdown and begin to re-open.  Although travel is permitted to EU citizens, there are still quarantine restrictions, and masks are mandatory. Travel from the United States is still not permitted at this time.   We are waiting on the expected re-open dates for US citizens.

Will you need a Vaccine or Negative Covid-19 test to travel?

There is no official word as of today as to what will be required in Israel.  We can advise for Israeli citizens entering Israel they are requiring negative
Covid-19 tests to enter.  They are requiring a quarantine unless the individuals have been vaccinated or have recovered from Covid-19.   Since they are just starting the gradual ease of their restrictions, their requirements may change often and begin to ease with time.    At this time the US does also require negative test results in order to re-enter the US for US citizens.
