Sail the Sea of Galilee Travel with Maranatha Tours
Join Maranatha Tours in The Holy Land and you will be able to say,
“I have sailed on the Sea of Galilee”
The Sea of Galilee also called Lake Tiberias, Kinneret or Kinnereth, is a freshwater lake in Israel. It is the lowest freshwater lake on Earth and the second-lowest lake in the world (after the Dead Sea, a saltwater lake). The lake is fed partly by underground springs but its main source is the Jordan River, which flows through it from north to south and exits the lake at the Degania Dam.

Once on board we take you on a journey you will never forget. While on your Christian pilgrimage you will be guided around the Sea of Galilee with one of our Best Biblical Guides. We will read the Bible and see the places where Jesus performed miracles according to the New Testament, such as his walking on water, calming the storm and feeding the multitude. This is one Boat Ride you will never forget.
After we set sail and get the geography of the Sea of Galilee and have a worship service right on the water, it will be time for some fun. Our captain will take over for some singing and dancing. Yes you will learn a few new or old songs in English and Hebrew and get to dance in the middle of the Sea! Dance to Hava Nagila (“Let us rejoice”) anyone! An Israeli folk song traditionally sung at Jewish celebrations, with the lyrics are based on Psalm 118 (verse 24) of the Hebrew Bible.

We then get to see a demonstration of how the disciples of Jesus would have fished with a net over 2000 years ago. Maybe he will catch your lunch!
Luke 5:4-11
4 When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”
5 Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”
6 When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. 7 So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.
8 When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” 9 For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, 10 and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners.
Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.” 11 So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.
