The Sinner’s Prayer – What is the Sinner’s Prayer ?

It is a prayer that those who are unsaved, those who do not yet know Jesus in a personal way pray to become saved. Those who want to avoid going to hell and want to go to heaven pray this prayer.

Pray this now Jesus, I know that you are real and I need you now, today ! So forgive me of all my sin. No sin is too small or too big for you to forgive. Come into my empty heart and live there. I want to be alive spiritually and be in heaven when I die. Make me a new creation in Christ Jesus, oh Lord. Amen.

   The Message of Easter

Easter is an exciting time for family, Easter eggs, candy and cute bunnies.

But wait, is this all there is ?? What is the real meaning of Easter? Is it really about fun and food, or is it about life, death and resurrection ??

The real answer lies in the Christian view. Easter is a day of remembrance of Jesus who rose from the dead for us so we could rise to live with him. If we confess with our mouths and believe in our hearts we will be saved… Romans 10:9 NIV

The Lord Jesus Christ on that first Good Friday, willingly surrendered his life so we could live and be guaranteed eternal life in Heaven with Him. In the Gospel of John 19:1-37 we see the Lord being crucified willingly for us. His whole mission was to live, die and rise again for us. And in that resurrection he brought new life, and the opportunity for everyone that calls on His name to cross over from death to life permanently and eternally if they believe he rose from the dead ! For everyone that calls on the name of the Lord will be saved… Acts 2:21 NIV

God did not promise anyone long life, but he did promise this: For God so loved the World that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NIV

So what is God’s promise for Easter? Well we  know what it is not. It is not eggs and bunnies. And it is not just a day off. Is it life and peace through God’s Son. It is a permanent hope !
