Pyramids & Sphinx  Cheops Pyramid, the largest of the three, was built in the 3rd dynasty about 2690 B.C. and is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. In front of the Pyramids of Chephren, we find the Sphinx. Carved from a single piece of stone, it incorporates a lion with a Pharaoh’s head, thought to be a portrait of the Pharaoh Chephren son of Cheops. Luxor & Valley of the Kings Luxor has frequently been characterized as the “world’s greatest open-air museum,” as the ruins of the Egyptian temple complexes stand within the modern city. Directly across the Nile from Luxor stands the Valley of the Kings, which was the principal burial place of the major royal figures of the Egyptian New Kingdom.

Karnak comprises a vast mix of decayed temples, pylons, chapels, and other buildings, including Amun Temple, the largest columnar structure ever raised.
Construction at the complex began during the reign of Senusret I and continued into the Ptolemaic Kingdom. The area around Karnak was the ancient Egyptian Ipet-isut (“The Most Selected of
Places”).

The River Nile The Nile is the longest river in Africa, and historically considered the world’s longest. Rich in history, the Nile River is most recognized by believers as the place Moses was placed by his sister to keep him safe from Pharaoh. “She put the baby in the basket and laid it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile River” Exodus 2:3.
