Dead Sea Tour Explore Israel Travel with Maranatha Tours – Dead Sea “Lake/Sea of Lot” is a salt lake bordered by Jordan to the east and Israel and the West Bank to the west. It lies in the Jordan Rift Valley, and its main tributary is the Jordan River.

Its surface and shores are (1,412 ft) below sea level, making the Dead Sea Earth’s lowest elevation on land. With its salinity it is one of the world’s saltiest bodies of water – 9.6 times as salty as the ocean – and has a density of 1.24 kg/litre, which makes swimming similar to floating. This salinity makes for a harsh environment in which plants and animals cannot flourish, hence its name, The Dead Sea.

Join Maranatha Tours in The Holy Land and you will be able to say,
“I have floated in the Dead Sea”

Dead Sea Tour Explore Israel Travel with Maranatha Tours – One of the most unique experiences you will have visiting the Dead Sea is Floating. Not swimming, just floating in the Dead Sea is a must do on your tour! Just lay back, relax, and enjoy, you will never forget this experience.

Dead Sea Tour Explore Israel Travel with Maranatha Tours – Don’t forget to get muddy! The Dead Sea mud is know world wide for its health benefits and used in cosmetic products. Dead Sea mud, alone or in combination with other ingredients, is believed to have benefits for deep cleansing and stimulation of the skin. Minerals extracted from Dead Sea water such as calcium, magnesium and potassium, are said to improve the metabolism, stimulate circulation and aid in the natural repair of cells.

The Dead Sea wildlife – The Nubian ibex is a desert-dwelling goat species found in mountainous areas of northern and northeast Africa, and the Middle East. Nubian ibexes stand around 2.1–2.6 ft tall at the shoulder and weigh around 110 lb. They are a light tan color, with a white underbelly; males also have a dark brown stripe down their backs. Nubian ibexes have long, thin horns that extend up and then backwards and down.

On our drive down to the Dead Sea be sure to look up into the mountains and maybe you will spot an ibex!
