Maranatha Tours to Greece follow the Biblical scripture of Apostle Paul.  One of the first stops we make in Greece is to visit the town of Kavala. Kavala is located Northern Greece, situated across from the island of Thasos and on the Bay of Kavala. The town is known for being the first stop Apostle Paul made on his journey of missionary to Europe. This ancient city was renamed Christopoulos because it was the first European city to accept Christianity. On our tours we visit the ancient ruins in Philippi where you will see the baptism site and a crypt that Apostle Paul may have been imprisoned. We also stop at the Acropolis, the Marketplace and Basilica the ancient theatre.  We continue onto the Gangitis River where Apostle Paul preached to a group of women.   It is believed Luke met him in Kavala and continued on their journey. The Bible scripture places Apostle Paul in these locations and why we have chosen these stops as pertinent stops along the footsteps of Apostle Paul

Apostle Paul speaks of this in Acts of the Apostles 16.9-12

9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

11 Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;

12 And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

and again in Acts 20:6-7
6 But we sailed from Philippi after the Festival of Unleavened Bread, and five days later joined the others at Troas, where we stayed seven days.

7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
